Imperativ commands and polite requests

Use the imperative to ask someone to do something. With du, use the imperative verb without du; with ihr, use the ihr verb form without ihr. Formal requests use the verb followed by Sie. Separable prefixes go last. Bitte can soften a request. Learn irregular forms such as lies, nimm and sei.
